The ES-339 is built to the standards of the ES-335, but the dimensions are closer to that of the Les Paul and SG. The Gibson ES-339 has a slightly archet top with real F-holes, thinline semi-hollow body, solid maple center block to reduce feedback and enhance sustain, rounded symmetrical cutaways with unparalleled upper-fret access are all here, minus a little of the bulk and weight!

This guitar isn’t directly molded after the ES-335, however. It has its share of enhancements, like Memphis Tone electronics, a more slender neck profile, side mounted output jack ad reduced dimensions / weight.

Epiphone Elitist 1965 Casino Hollowbody Electric Guitar Review http://guitar-reviewer.com/epiphone-elitist-1965-casino-hollowbody-electric-guitar-review http://guitar-reviewer.com/epiphone-elitist-1965-casino-hollowbody-electric-guitar-review#comments Sun, 12 Sep 2010 11:03:47 +0000 admin http://guitar-reviewer.com/?p=408 The Epiphone Elitist 1965 Casino hollowbody electric guitar is another stunner in Epiphones line of outstanding axes. This hollowbody is suprisingly lightweight, a huge plus on a large guitar, and the neck is very comfortable. Epiphones ‘Elite’ series of guitars are instruments that are bordering on custom shop quality. Many of the inner workings, like the pickups, circuitry, toggles, and tuners are all American made in a special factory that is devoted to their manufacture where they receive a high degree of hands-on luthier attention.

You’ll find the Elite 1965 Casino true to the original made famous by The Beatles. A finely crafted, great-sounding, and easy-playing instrument that beautifully blurs the line between Epiphone and Gibson.

The body is large, giving it a great tone, yet it is very comfortable. And the stylish pointed cutaway adds a nice visual touch. When it was released, it quickly became the most popular jazz guitar in the world.

This reissue electric guitar features a transparent finish on a laminated maple body. The bindings on the top back and fingerboard, along with the trapeze tailpiece and parallelogram inlays provide a touch of style and class that is unrivaled. Dual ’57 Classic humbucking pickups crank out all the silky smooth jazz tone you could dream of. The Gibson ES-175 is well worth the hefty price tag that goes along with it.
