Gibson Billie Joe Armstrong Signature Les Paul Jr. Electric Guitar Review

The Gibson Billie Joe Armstrong Signature Les Paul Jr oozes raw punk rock tone. This Les Paul Jr is a modern remake of ‘Floyd’, the vintage Junior Armstrong plays on stage. Initially created as a budget model guitar, the Les Paul Jr has time and again proven it has more than enough muscle to handle modern music. The flat-top, single-cutaway mahogany body and single dog-ear, double-coil H-90 pickup combination is unbeatable for punchy, defined-yet-dirty tone.

The Billie Joe Signature also features a mahogany neck with rosewood fretboard (ebony on classic white model) and ’1960 slim-tapered neck profile is comfy and gives you something solid to hold on to. It also has a wraparound compensated bridge, nickel tuners, and volume and tone controls.

Man, this guitar is great. It’s so versitile, yet so simple. The H-90 sounds just like a P-90, but with a little more output. Its very “meat and potatoes” as that I’ve heard it put. but its so veritil, i can play Metal, rock, Punk, Pop, or whatever the hell i feel like. This guitar is just so versitile.

I had purchased one of these last year and love it. I was looking for a backup and had a local store bring in one of the cheaper vintage burst jr’s. I could tell right away that the Billie Joe was so much better. The weight was much better and the overall feel. I ended up getting another Billie Joe instead. I play thru a Mesa-Boogie 50 calibre and a Marshall 4×12. The sound super fat, crunchy and raw. Plus I payed $1200 canadian each. Sweet deal.

This guitar was a must get for me from the get go. I love Gibson’s and I absolutly love the sunburst finish on this Junior. This guitar gives you that punchy sound with its great tone and when the tones turned down it’s great for grunge stuff such as Nirvana.

This guitar is a must buy overall and really a great remake for the king of power chords
